Digital distributors release new music, video and e-book products every day. For a title to appear in the charts, its master data has to reach the market research institutes. Every distributor delivers it in a format of its own. Phononet bundles those deliveries in the Digitale Artikelstamm, DigiAS for short, and standardises them. Chart registration then runs automatically, and the Music Promotion Network can take the data for its promo distribution.
DigiAS is developed at Phononet — by their own team, and with us. We have been working on the application layer since 2017. We build on the import pipeline that receives deliveries every day, validates them and maps them into a single data model. We implement the DDEX standards the distributors deliver in and connect new delivery channels. Search, the web interface and the API through which other systems — the Music Promotion Network among them — can take the data are part of our share, too. Infrastructure, operations and product ownership stay with Phononet. Together we make sure the data is right.
